Ponytail style
No longer just a bad-hair day antidote, the ponytail is a chic and sleek hairstyle. Give a new twist to a standard style by creating a layered ponytail.

Unlike a regular ponytail, in which all the hair is gathered back at once, a layered ponytail divides the hair into two sections. This layered look makes the ponytail more elegant, turning it from the province of high-school cheerleaders to a stunning undo.

Wear it low at the back of the neck for dressy business or evening occasions or keep it in the middle of the head for a casual sporty look ponytail.

TIPS:

If your hair is very thick use a coated elastic band around your hair.

WARNINGS:

NEVER USE IN DAMP HAIR.

NEVER SCOOP TO MUCH HAIR.

NEVER FORSE THE FORK, PLEASE SLIDE GENTLY INTO HAIR

STEP 1
Comb your hair, removing any tangles or snarls
STEP 2
Add a dollop of styling mousse or pomade to give just-dried hair some weight and texture. Brush hair into the ponytail.
STEP 3

Separate a small section the hair. For shorter hair separate the longer section the hair.
STEP 4

Wrap this section the hair around the ponytail. As you work, try to keep the hair close to your head as possible to make your ponytail tight.
STEP 5

Hold the hair fork with sharp tooth UP. Scoop with a fork a very small part of the of the hair on the top of the ponytail and gently angle the fork down to the scalp.
