No longer just a bad-hair-day antidote, the ponytail is a chic and sleek hairstyle. Give a new twist to a standard style by creating a layered ponytail. Unlike a regular ponytail, in which all the hair is gathered back at once, a layered ponytail divides the hair into two sections. This layered look makes the ponytail more elegant, turning it from the province of high-school cheerleaders to a stunning updo. Wear it low at the back of the neck for dressy business or evening occasions or keep it in the middle of the head for a casual sporty look.
